All weaves are woven to provide different attributes which assit in the process of support and filtration based on the thickness of the wires and how tightly they can be woven to provide the many different micron ratings.

Kinds of Weaving

Plain Weave

The most famous kind of weaving with exact apertures for percise micron ratings. Warp and weft wires are woven over and under each other repeatedly.

Twilled Weave

In the twilled weave each warp and weft wire is woven over and under two. Allowing for small apertures in combination with strong wires are required.

Plain Dutch Weave

Wire filter cloth, woven in a plain weave pattern having few and thicker warp wires and many and thinner weft wires, beaten closely together. Allowing for high intrinsic stability with a relatively small nominal aperture.

Twilled Dutch Weave

Twilled Dutch is a similar construction to plain Dutch i.e. fewer thick warp wires, many thin weft wires, except the weave pattern is twilled (over-under every two warp wires) which allows for maximum number of weft wires. Dutch twill is a surface filtration media, allowing the smallest openings. Smooth surface, very stable, especially suitable for ultrafine filtration needs.

Reversed Plain Dutch (PZ) / Reversed Twilled Dutch (KPZ)

This is the reverse of nominal dutch. The weft wires are much thicker than the warp wires. Thus the largest number of wires are found in the warp direction. This weave pattern is characterized by the greatest stability with good flow capacity aka throughput, as well as high tensile strength in the warp direction.
